The Game of Life and How to Play It came to me during a very sad, unhappy period of time in my life – I had foolishly given my personal power away and it felt as if my life force was draining from me. Then a miracle occurred. I met a wonderful woman who saw the light of God shining within me trying so desperately to survive the physical world. She asked the angels what she could do to help me and they led her to her bookcase. As she stood there in front of the books, she asked which one to loan to me. The Game of Life and How to Play It, by Florence Scovel Shinn fell to the floor.

As I read the words of wisdom Florence shared in the book, I couldn’t put it down. What Florence had written seventy years before resonated deep within me. I snatched back my personal power and began to search within me for my true self and I found her. Together with my entourage of angels, guides and teachers, my spiritual journey began in earnest.

The Game of Life is a powerful tool that will only “click” with people when they are ready. In reading it more than once new meaning, new vigor, new strength and power are discovered each time, because with each reading the mind is at a higher level of consciousness.

While living in the physical world Florence Scovel Shinn was widely known for many years as an artist and illustrator, metaphysician and lecturer, who helped thousands of people through her great work of healing and assisting in solving their problems.

She is the author of The Game of Life and How to Play It, Your Word is Your Wand, and The Secret Door to Success. The Power of the Spoken Word was published after her death in 1945.

Florence crossed over October 17, 1940.

In the late summer of 2006 she came to me and wanted to create an e-course based on The Game of Life and How to Play It. This was an exciting time for me, learning more about her and how she wanted to continue to serve the peoples of Mother Earth.

She chose what chapter we worked on and I dutifully carried out her wishes typing up the course and creating the experiential forms. When we had three chapters left I hit a roadblock. It was as if she deserted me. I connected with my guides and learned that I had life experiences to work through before we could finish. The life experiences were painful. Once they were complete, Florence came back and we finished the e-course in 2007.

I found her to be an amazing spirit of love, light and joy. I’m sure you will too as you read through our work. Don’t be surprised if you find her “reminding” you how powerful your thoughts are at times when you least expect it.
